Harold Bresnick Associates, Ltd. also known as “Bresnick Associates” or “HBA” has been a fixture in the New York City life insurance industry for more than three decades.
Our roots can be traced back to the post Korean War years.  Our founder, Harold Bresnick, served as an officer during the conflict, and upon his discharge joined the “Bergen Agency”, as an agent representing the Madison Life Insurance Company.

The young agents who were trained and thrived under the guidance of Bernie Bergen throughout the early 1960’s eventually branched out to create a number of successful regional life insurance distribution companies known as General Agents.  In that era a typical General Agency was primarily identified by its affiliation to one insurance carrier and distributed only those products and services offered by ‘that company’.  Product knowledge, underwriting expertise, and exceptional personal service lead to the success of these. They built long term relationships with their producers and their carriers, and were a key element in the process of educating and delivering valuable protection to the insurance consumer.
